Last night, Monday 9th February, was the first evening of the Loose Muse women writer’s event in Winchester. It is to take place at the Discovery Centre, Winchester, every second Monday of the month. I read my poems Censored Pages, about my visit to Russia in 1989, and also The Irish Fiddler, about a music event in Alton. Agnes Meadows read from her poetry collections and Margaret Coles intrigued us with her lecture about her novel The Greening, based on the life and writings of Julian of Norwich. The evening was very stimulating and the standard of writing was high. Anyone interested in women’s poetry and writing should put this in the diary.
